We have two North American manufacturing facilities and one in Europe for cremation equipment, crematory accessories, environmentally-friendly caskets and service support materials. With over 200,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities in Florida and Indiana and 40,000 square feet in Udine, Italy, we have the capacity and desire to serve our clients' needs around the world - no matter how large or how small.
Matthews Cremation Division operates warehouse facilities in the United States with full shipping capability in three different time zones in order to serve our clients wherever they are and whenever they need it.
We are also very proud of the five brands in our Division; Industrial Equipment and Engineering (IEE) cremation equipment, ALL Crematory cremation equipment, GEM Environmental System, Elder Davis environmentally friendly caskets and of course Matthews International Corp. These names are all well respected worldwide for years of dedication and service to the death care industry.
Matthews Cremation Division has five specific product areas which we focus on; Cremation equipment (human and animal), Environmentally-friendly caskets, Service and Repair of cremation equipment, Crematory Supplies/Urns and Columbarium/Niche. Our complete product line encompasses the needs of our clients in their diverse businesses.
Matthews Cremation Division's commitment to excellence spans over 60 years, along with Industrial Equipment and Engineering, ALL Crematory and GEM Environmental Systems in the design, manufacture and installation of combustion systems for a broad range of industries. They are recognized as the world leader in cremation equipment, with over 3,500 installations throughout the United States and 50 countries. Their designs have been granted US patents and have been adopted as industry standards for quality and performance.
Elder Davis Inc., part of the Cremation Division's team, has been the leader in environmentally-friendly caskets and containers since 1984. They have established themselves as the cremation casket and container leader through product innovation, environmental consciousness and providing continuing education to the cremation and funeral industry. Elder Davis will continue to improve and expand distribution throughout North America and Canada introducing new products, and providing continuing education on cremation to the industry.
Over the years Elder Davis has introduced many product innovations. The ELDERLITE design and Carte Veneer™ are both now industry standards. They were the first casket company to complete cremation emissions stack testing which established the emissions benchmark for North America. They provide environmentally responsible cloth and veneer-covered caskets, and pioneered the first production use of environmentally responsible water-based finishes on hardwood caskets.
Matthews Cremation Division looks beyond the needs of today. To keep design concepts current they have assembled a research and development team of designers, engineers, environmental specialists and manufacturing personnel. Their team of combustion experts explores new manufacturing techniques, advances product performance, optimizes compliance with environmental standards and proactively solicits customer feedback.
Major emphasis is kept on complete customer service. They offer services such as facility floor plan design and return on investments analysis to help potential clients in making informed buying decisions. Once a purchase is made, Matthews Cremation Division is ready with complete follow through, from assistance with environmental permitting and guaranteed EPA approval, to on-site operator training, 24-hour toll-free service hotline and a database of customers' service histories.
